Datamiser Case Study | E & E Manufacturing – Metal Stamping

For 50 years, E&E Manufacturing has served its world-class customers by manufacturing heavy gage stamped metal fasteners, progressive die metal stampings, and high value added assemblies. The company prides itself on having spotless, state-of-the-art facilities allowing them to tackle complex manufacturing problems for their Tier 1, Tier 2 and OEM clients in automotive, heavy truck, military and other industries. E&E also has two sister companies, Globe Tech Manufactured Products and Die Tech Stamping.

The Problem

E & E had one main objective – they were required by their supplier to log data and wanted to do so on a budget. In addition, they needed to incorporate the data collection process as part of the part cycle, so the system could not continue until the data collection system confirmed that data was logged.

The Solution

Savance proposed using Savance Datamiser, SQL Server Express, and a lower cost fanless Atom-powered PC by Asus. The PC was under an inch thick and included a wall mount so it could easily be mounted inside the panel. Savance designed the database and the system to collect and store all necessary data such as the part number, the straightness, and the flatness from the process.

The End Result

For a very reasonable cost, E & E had a turn key solution that collected data when the machine requested and confirmed back to the machine when data was successfully archived. This allowed them to meet their requirements set forth by their clients.
